1. Personal Protection is Non-Negotiable: Fully Equipped Before Operation
Before operation, personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn correctly and consistently throughout the entire process. This includes well-sealed goggles, chemical-resistant gloves, a respirator mask, long-sleeved shirts and pants, and rubber boots. Operating bare-chested, in short sleeves, or wearing sandals is strictly prohibited.
2. Master equipment before operation; thorough instruction manual review is key
Before operating a new machine type for the first time, carefully read the instruction manual to fully understand all functions, control components, and emergency shutdown procedures. For complex equipment like remote-controlled or self-propelled models, practice in an open, safe area until proficient before commencing formal operations.
3. Conduct thorough site inspections to avoid hazards and ensure safety
Before operation, survey the field terrain, clear obstacles, and mark hazards like pits, utility poles, etc. Closely monitor weather forecasts. Never operate during high winds (typically above wind force 3), imminent rainfall, or thunderstorms to prevent pesticide drift or lightning strikes.
4. Exercise Caution During Mixing; Centralize Processing to Prevent Spread
Conduct pesticide mixing in designated, well-ventilated areas. Strictly adhere to dilution ratios specified on pesticide labels using dedicated measuring tools. Never handle undiluted pesticides with bare hands; use tools like wooden sticks for stirring. Keep emergency supplies such as clean water, soap, and sand readily available at the mixing site.
5. Strictly Prohibit Eating, Drinking, or Smoking; Eliminate Contamination Sources
Throughout operations, absolutely prohibit eating, drinking, smoking, or touching the mouth, nose, or eyes with bare hands. This maximizes prevention of pesticide entry via the digestive or respiratory tracts.
6. Beware of high-pressure equipment zones; follow protocols for nozzle blockages
Sprayer piping systems contain high pressure. When inspecting or clearing blocked nozzles, always shut down the machine and fully release pipeline pressure first. Never inspect nozzles directly with hands or any body part while the machine is running.
7. Stay alert while moving in fields; prioritize operator and equipment safety
When moving or turning in fields, constantly observe surroundings. Maintain safe distances between equipment and utility poles/trees to prevent electric shock or collisions. Keep personnel away from self-propelled equipment. During remote operation, ensure clear visibility and maintain safe distances from people and livestock.
8. Maintain Rigorous Cleaning Practices to Ensure Complete Residue Removal
Immediately after operations, thoroughly clean both equipment and personnel. Rinse sprayer tanks, lines, and nozzles multiple times with clean water. Dispose of washwater properly in non-water source areas. Operators must shower immediately and wash work clothing separately.
9. Properly Dispose of Pesticide Packaging; Environmental Protection is Everyone's Responsibility
Empty pesticide bags/containers must be collected and recycled according to regulations. Do not discard them carelessly, repurpose them, or leave them in fields, as this causes long-term environmental pollution.
10. Designated Equipment Storage with Clear Warning Signs to Prevent Accidental Contact
Thoroughly cleaned sprayers must be stored in dedicated areas inaccessible to children, unauthorized personnel, and livestock. Clearly marked “Danger: Pesticide-Treated” warning signs should be prominently displayed to prevent accidents.
Safety is not a slogan but a series of concrete, actionable behaviors. Every strict adherence to safety protocols provides a solid safeguard for oneself, others, and the environment.
